Job Description

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for Centrally managing and scheduling Department of Defense official travel within the USNORTHCOM area of responsibility to support non-executive airlift travel requirements.

**Qualifications:**
Individual Occupational Requirements Education Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position (aviation science, aviation affairs, aviation engineering, air transportation). OR Experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. AND You may qualify at the GS-11, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service: Centrally manages and schedules airlift requests submitted by DoD authorized agencies and activities Liaison with cross-functional organizations to provide customer support Performs airlift analysis and studies to identify problem areas and make recommendations for improvement to leadership both orally and in writing OR B. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR C. You have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and you have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. You have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
